Writer | editor | journalist
I have been a journalist since the 1990s, working in the newsrooms of the San Juan (Puerto Rico) Star, Bloomberg News, and the Hollywood Reporter.
Since 2001, I have worked as a freelance journalist, publishing breaking-news articles, features and essays in dozens of publications, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Sunset Magazine and the content-based web sites of American Express and Coca-Cola.
I grew up on the East Coast, where I studied Spanish and journalism as an undergraduate and later earned a master’s in journalism from American University. I’m now settled in Los Angeles with my husband and two sons. In my spare time, I like to hike the San Gabriel Mountains, read Raymond Chandler novels at the beach, and walk Daysi, our obstinate rescue Golden Shepherd.
